ATF NATIONAL ODOR RECOGNITION TESTING (NORT) AND TATP/HMTD/HME TRAINING

 TRAIN WITH THE ATF | HOME MADE EXPLOSIVES!

This training is hosted by the ATF and consists of the ATF National Odor Recognition Testing (NORT) and training on a variety of home made explosives. This training is offered at various locations around the country, please see table below for dates and locations.

Registration

Training is open to all U.S. Government, law enforcement, fire service, intelligence community, and military personnel. Interested explosives detection canine handlers email James.R.James@usdoj.gov the following information to register:

Name, official title or rank, canine’s name, email address, and cellular telephone number.

Answers to FAQ

1. Training is FREE.

2. Handlers’ agencies are responsible for all travel, lodging, and per diem expenses.

3. Training is conducted by FLETC LEITP certified Instructors (Canine Trainers) from ATF’s National Canine Division.

4. Teams are encouraged to attend all 3 training days; however, it’s not mandatory to do so. Teams who successfully complete the Official NORT Certification on Day 2, are not required to return on Day 3.

5. Teams can participate exclusively in odor recognition training and/or TATP/HMTD/HME imprinting if they elect to do so.
