2026 USPCA/AKC REUNITE K9 Grant Opening

The 2026 USPCA/AKC REUNITE K9 Grant Application will open on
December 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM Eastern Time. There are a FEW
CHANGES to the grant application. You will be required to create an
account to continue with the application process. It will also require
you to enter your agency’s “EIN” (Employer Identification Number), so
have that handy before you start the application process. As with
previous years, you MUST be a USPCA member to apply. When
applying for the AKC REUNITE Grant, double-check that all required
fields are completed and ensure all necessary documents are
uploaded before submitting your application. Missing information or
attachments could delay processing or result in disqualification.

Please familiarize yourself with the procedure using this attached step-by-step guide.

**There will be 80 grants available for 2026**

Welcome to the “NEW” USPCA / AKC REUNITE K9 COP GRANT program

Welcome to the “NEW” USPCA / AKC REUNITE K9 COP GRANT program. The grant program has changed slightly.  Please monitor this site for the announcement. We will publish a link that will allow you to fill out and submit the grant entirely online. There will not be a need to print a paper copy unless you desire one for your records. This process will allow for grants to be approved quickly. The AKC REUNITE Program will be determining how many grants are available in the near future.

It is REQUIRED that you become a member of the United States Police Canine Association (USPCA) before filling out the form online. When you join the USPCA, you will create a “profile”. After your membership is paid, there will be a “Download Invoice” created on your profile page. Access your profile page. You will need to download that invoice in order to upload the invoice to the application. The application will also require you to upload your W-9 and your letter of commitment. Your letter of commitment is required to be on the Agency letterhead and signed by a ranking member of your agency. The letter must indicate your commitment to funding $2500.

The grant is still a matching grant with a 75% match of your requested funds up to $10,000. (ex, you ask for $10,000, you will receive $7500, (your $2500+$7500=$10,000)).

If you have any questions about the grant, please contact Mark Darnell at K9[email protected]

If you are a Chief, Sheriff, or supervisor applying for this grant and you do not have a handler selected yet,  just go ahead and apply using the name listed on the application.   Once you get a handler selected,  we would be more than happy to move this membership from you to the selected handler within the current year of the application.
